Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, wraps up its biggest annual regional shopping event of the year, Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day,surpassing last year’s record at 7.43am on 9 September. This year’s Shopee 9.9 Super ShoppingDay achieved a new milestone with the highest-ever sales performance in Shopee’s history, with over 5.8 million orders recorded; amounting to 3 times more than an average day.
Over 15 million items were sold within 24 hours. Within the first 9 minutes of 9 September, a total of 99,999 items were snapped up by shoppers from all across the region.
Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day boasted the support of more than 7 million sellers, and 10,000 brands across the region. In Singapore, Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day was extremely well-received. Mobile & Gadgets, Health & Beauty and Games & Hobbies emerged as the top performing categories as Singaporeans shopped over the 14-day event from 27 August to 9 September.
The debut of back-to-back themed days during this year’s Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day proved to be highly popular, with both sellers and brands enjoying extended reach and sales uplift. As part of thisyear’s 9.9 celebrations, Shopee also launched the first-ever Super Brands Festival, featuring the largest collection of deals from leading brands on Shopee Mall.
Shopee’s interactive in-app game, Shopee Shake, continued to be a hit among users. Across the region, over 11 billion Shopee coins were won by millions of users. The game was played around 500,000 times in Singapore as users enjoyed the new Shopee Shake group mode to earn bonus coins.
