Sentosa Sandsation returns this year with a brand new MARVEL Edition!

Southeast Asia’s biggest sand festival, Sentosa Sandsation, is set to return bigger and better from 1 to 16 September this year in a never-before seen MARVEL Edition, as part of the second year of a three-year collaboration between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia (Disney).

Taking place at The State of Fun’s Siloso Beach, Sentosa Sandsation: MARVEL Edition will feature 15 larger-than-life sand sculptures of popular MARVEL Super Heroes such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and many more.

Sculpted by the internationally-acclaimed JOOheng Tan and his team, the sand-art will also make their home alongside an array of interactive MARVEL-themed activities that are set to bring out the inner super hero in everyone:

• Hulk Smash – Discover how your strength compares to a MARVEL Super Hero, as you watch the ground break and tremor according to the intensity of your smash
• Freeze Frame Station – Show off your superhero moves along with other MARVEL Super Heroes in a 180-degree photo opportunity activation, and take home a photo memorabilia after
• Hero Action Centre – Find out how similar you are to a MARVEL Super Hero, and bring home a customised Singapore-themed MARVEL comic book

With larger-than-life, very “Instagrammable” sand sculptures of popular MARVEL Super Heroes, as well as a whole host of other exciting MARVEL-themed activities, this year promises to be a marvellous September in Sentosa! The Sentosa Sandsation: MARVEL Edition will provide our MARVEL fans from Singapore and across the region with a creative and fun experience to enjoy their favorite MARVEL stories and Super Heroes.

Over the three-weekend affair, MARVEL fans can look forward to sand sculpting workshops for those aged five and above, movies by the beach, and unique offerings at Madame Tussauds Singapore’s MARVEL 4D Experience.

Fans of Sentosa Sandsation can also look forward to the return of the acclaimed Sentosa International Sand Sculpting Championship, which will see 14 of the world’s best sand sculptors pit against each other for the Golden Shovel Award in a MARVEL-inspired sand sculpting competition.
