Mother’s Day is just round the corner and if you are looking for a place to celebrate with your mummy dearest, why not head down to a shopping mall like City Square Mall?
At City Square Mall, you will be able to treat your mum to a wide selection of delectable dining options, shop together for gifts (you can buy gift vouchers for her as present) and even surprise her with a bouquet of flower from Far East Flora which has a unit in the mall.
City Square Mall, located at the junction of Serangoon and Kitchener Roads, sits on the site of Singapore’s historic New World Park. It is easily accessible via public transport, with direct connection to Farrer Park MRT station on the NEL line. If you drive, the mall offers free weekday lunchtime parking from 12pm to 2pm for the first 1½ hours.
The mall packs over 450,000 sq, spread over five retail levels, two basements and four levels of lifestyle services. It is home to about 200 tenants that caters to the lifestyle needs of today’s discerning mid-income families.
I brought my mum for lunch last weekend and we had a hearty lunch at Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken, a dining concept by the same people behind the popular Aston’s chain which also has a restaurant on level 4 of City Square Mall. We were looking for a casual restaurant to have a fuss-free lunch and Chic-A-Boo fit the bill.
The portions are really huge and the prices are very reasonable. After eating here, you might switch away from some of the other fried chicken joints. It is also halal certified.
As City Square Mall is near to where my parents stay, we come here frequently. Other than Chic-A-Boo and Aston’s, there’s also MANLE Hotpot, On The Grill, Watami Japanese Restaurant and a whole slew of other F&B offerings at the mall to suit every craving.
While we were waiting for our food, I went down to B1 with my son Asher to collect a bouquet of flowers from Far East Flora which we pre-ordered to give my mum a surprise. That’s one of the great thing about celebrating Mother’s Day at the mall, you can get everything done in one venue.
After lunch, Asher and I then went to shop for presents for our respective mother at UNIQLO, OWNDAYS and Decathlon which are located on the 2nd floor. These three are among my favourite great value brands that I frequently buy from and it’s awesome that they are all located side-by-side on the same floor at City Square Mall.
After shopping, Asher then gets to hang out at the kids floor at basement 2 where he can check out the latest toys at Toys’R Us and play the Pokemon Tretta arcade game at PLAYe. There’s also Airzone on the second floor which we visited previously that offers great fun for the little ones.
If you are looking to celebrate Mother’s Day at City Square Mall, why not pre-order your flowers from Far East Flora? Here’s a special promo code to share – simple quote “ALVIN5” and get an extra S$5 off FarEastFlora.com‘s Mother’s Day collection! This promotion is valid till 13 May.
