AirAsia introduces Roberto Carlos as their New Global Ambassador

The legendary Brazillian footballer Roberto Carlos is now taking it to the sky being AirAsia’s new global ambassador.

Roberto Carlos is known as the “The Bullet Man” for is powerful free kicks. He represented Brazil in several FIFA World Cup Tournaments and was part of the team that won the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.

From Brazil, Roberto Carlos also played for Madrid and won four Spanish La Liga titles and was a three-time champion in UEFA Champions League in 1998, 2000 and 2002. He started playing football in the streets of Garca. When he was 12 years old, he is already set to become a professional footballer.

Now, Carlos has gained popularity not just a footballer, but as a global icon name in the field of sports. His impressive dare to dream spirit is one of the main reasons why he is the perfect icon to represent the airlines.

The airlines announced Carlos as their new global ambassador in Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral in the presence of AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat and AirAsia X Malaysia CEO Benyamin Ismail. AirAsia Group CEO and AirAsia X Co-Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said, “He [Roberto Carlos] has shown that when he wants something, he will see it through to the end. We couldn’t be more proud to have such a fighter in our roster of world champion brand ambassadors.”

Roberto Carlos, on the other hand, is thrilled to be AirAsia’s global ambassador. His personal trait is in line with the company’s campaign in making dreams come true. He even shared the inspirational line he learned from Brazil quoting, “Because we suffer so much, we value football.”

“This shows you can succeed no matter where you come from as long as you believe and work hard.” He added.
