Kong Hee (康希), 52, is one of the most famous and charismatic pastors in Singapore. He is the founder and senior pastor of City Harvest Church, one of the richest and most popular new age churches that preaches prosperity gospel.
Prosperity gospel is a religious belief among some Christians, who hold that financial blessing and physical well-being are always the will of God for them, and that faith, positive speech, and donations to religious causes will increase one’s material wealth. In other words, the more you donate to your pastor and your church, the more likely you will be blessed and become rich.
On 20 November 2015, Kong Hee was convicted for the misuse of church funds and received a sentence of 8 years in prison. He was said to be the “key man” behind the illegal use of $24 million of church funds while misusing another $26 million in a cover-up. Five other church members were convicted with him, with Kong Hee receiving the heaviest sentence.
Despite the scandal, Kong Hee still has a sizeable following and many loyal fans, including over 120,000 fans on his Facebook page alone. Recently, Kong Hee is attracting a lot of attention from the public from a video he posted on his Facebook page. In the video, he can be seen blessing a large amount of olive oil packed in small bottles, likely to be sold to his congregation:
He wrote: “I believe these bottles of anointing oil, coupled with your effective, fervent prayer will avail much in bringing healing & deliverance!”
If you are interested to get your hands on a bottle of olive oil blessed by Pastor Kong Hee, make sure to contact your nearest City Harvest Church representative authorised reseller. Be careful not to buy them from second-hand dealers from Carousell or other marketplace to make sure you got the real deal and not pirated versions.
This is not the first time the controversial pastor had captivated the public with his strange antics. In 2009, there was a video which depicted Kong Hee apparently curing cancer. The video has since been taken down.
Again in 2009, Kong Hee explained the relationship between Christianity and Ancient China (no, it has nothing to do with his wife, Sun Ho’s China Wine), connecting many commonly used Chinese words to christianity:
In 2012, Kong Hee quoted from the Bible in a video and shared ten reasons why he thinks Jesus was very rich:
Last but not least, everyone’s favourite Kong Hee moment got to be in 2013 when God allegedly said this to Pastor Kong Hee: “My son, Kong, thank you. Thank you for going through this. I need you to go through this alone so that you and City Harvest Church can be the man and the ministry I call it to be. I am so sorry, but you need to go through this by yourself, to bring a change to your generation.”
Yes, God said sorry to Kong Hee – according to Kong Hee.
Wow.
Take a minute and let it sink in.

Hi, I am a member of the church and they gave them away for free last weekend, to pray for the sick and our dear ones at home... Pls dont sensationalized news.. it's simply not the truth.
Ahem, you missed out the part where God thanked him, and it was just before God apologised to him! :)
