Forget Shaved Snow Ice, Say Hello to Shaved Gelato!

And finally the day has come where residents in Sengkang welcomes the reopening of their favorite hangout place, Compass One Mall (rebranded from Compasspoint). From 1 September 2016, the newly overhauled mall will welcome their first customer and I can’t wait to check out the place! This used to be my hangout since its opening in 2002.

One day before its public debut, I took a quick peak in the new mall and also checked out the first ever shaved gelato store in Singapore!

eyescream and friends is a young iconic brand serving original shaved gelato headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. Since the Grand Opening of the Flagship store on the main avenue of the thriving Barceloneta neighborhood in 2012, eyescream and friends soon became a popular “must visit” attraction for young and old from across the globe. Singapore is its first outlet in Asia and second worldwide after it’s opening in April 2016 in Cairo, Egypt.

Think yummy shaved gelato + googly candy eyes + your choice of toppings! This cute serving of shaved gelato is going to be the next big hit in Singapore. From $6.90 a pop, you get to pick from the many flavors of gelato, see it being shaved, choose two toppings of your choice, snap a photo of this adorable creation, post it on Instagram and enjoy! Yup, that’s how many first-timers will be doing come 1 Sep when they open their store to public at Compass One.

eyescream and friends is located at Compass One shopping mall at #B1-42. Nearest MRT station is Sengkang. Be prepared to charge through thousands of people to get to the basement, because when new malls open EVERYBODY in Singapore flocks there like it’ll only open for that one day. Crazy but true! Opens daily from 10am to 10pm.
