The packaging looks ordinary enough, but this is no ordinary condom.
The promise from Durex for Real Feel is to give a comfortable fit for “real skin on skin feeling”. It’s like wearing protection, yet not letting it hinder your sensual enjoyment – the pinnacle of achievements for any condom brand.
This claim is made with scientific merits:
Real Feel condoms are made from non-latex polyisoprene. This synthetic material has higher elasticity than natural rubber latex, making them more comfortable to use. Polyisoprene is also a softer material that gives a better fit, the reason why it’s as though you’re not wearing a condom at all.
Also, there are people who are allergic to latex and polyisoprene would be a better alternative.
The feeling is all in the detail. Watch this video:

Durex has over 80 years of experience of manufacturing condoms. So it’s safe to say that every single one is the product of a process that’s tried and tested. You have to trust the brand with the legacy.
Starting with the bare basics, all of Durex’s condoms use only the finest quality raw materials. Then, each is tested electronically, with samples from every batch also inflated with air to test their strength. International standards demand that a condom can contain 18 litres of air in this ‘air burst test’. A Durex condom will typically expand to hold 40 litres of air without bursting (Just one example of Durex not just meeting worldwide safety quality standards – but exceeding them).
Sample condoms are also filled with water to make sure they don’t leak (To be on the safe side, Durex conduct about two million of these water tests per month). All condom types are also dermatologically tested. In fact, if one sample doesn’t pass any of Durex’s tests, the whole batch of up to 432,000 condoms doesn’t leave the factory.
As well as pushing the boundaries of product testing, Durex is also constantly undertaking research projects – looking for new ways to improve their products or spotting new trends in sexual behaviour that may lead to whole new product areas. This was how the Durex Real Feel next generation condom came about.
So… there you have it; the best processes, making the best products, backed by the smartest thinking. Maybe that’s why millions of people across the world trust Durex every day. Including my wife and I. 🙂
