Singapore’s most popular tulip display, Tulipmania, is back for the second year at Gardens by the Bay. From 16 April till 4 May 2014 (this weekend), the Flower Field within the Flower Dome will transform into a garden of tulips, this time bringing a “mini Holland” to Singapore. With more tulip bulbs on display this year compared to Tulipmania’s debut in 2013, the captivating floral display looks set to excite visitors from near and far once again.
In conjunction with Tulipmania 2014, Gardens by the Bay is offering a special 50% discount to local senior citizens visiting the tulip display in the Flower Dome (terms and conditions apply).
Visitors can also look forward to an exciting line-up of programmes such as Dutch cheese tasting, tulip-inspired art activity, Tulipmania self-guided trail, photography and Instagram competitions, and appearances by Miffy, the well-loved children’s book character flown in on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from the Netherlands:
For this second edition of Tulipmania, Gardens by the Bay has flown in 50,000 tulip bulbs in a myriad of varieties and colours directly from the Netherlands. Drawing inspiration from Madurodam, the miniature replica model park in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this year’s display depicts scenes of Dutch canals, houses and windmills set amidst spectacular blooms of tulips and hyacinths:
I visited the Flower Dome to check out Tulipmania with Rachel and Asher earlier last week and had a great time there. Once you step into the dome, the strong flowery fragrance of tulips will engulf you. What follow next is a spectacular assault on your visions through the wide array of colours and tulip varieties:
