An entire island for 3D2N just for you and 15 of your closest friends to host your own party. How much better can life get?

To me, winning this is likened to being crowned the “King/ Queen” of Nikoi Island for 3D2N: “Ye 15 of you are thou’s noblest friends. Thou shalt invite you to party with thee majesty on thou’s private island”.

You can even start doing a list to see who’s been naughty and who’s been nice to you as you compile your list of 15 to invite along. How frequent in one’s life do you get to play Santa?

I was searching for more information on Nikoi Island online and I must say, I was impressed by what I found. The island is extremely private and the resort promotes eco-tourism:

Nikoi is a 15 hectare private island 8km off the east coast of Bintan, Indonesia. Located less than 85km from Singapore, traveling time from Tanah Merah ferry terminal is approximately two and a half hours.

Long regarded as one of the most stunning islands on this relatively unspoilt coast, Nikoi is fortunate to have remained in pristine condition. It is ringed with white sandy beaches and coral reefs of spectacular colour and diversity and a coastline studded with magnificent white granite boulders that seemingly defy gravity. Rising to a height of 30m, the island also boasts a rain forest where colossal trees, including native Banyan trees, provide a sanctuary to a diverse population of local birds.

For me, the concept of a holiday is to get away from the hustle and bustle of extremely overcrowded Singapore and lie in a idyllic corner by the sea to do some quiet reading. My wife will appreciate this too (and I am sure many other Singaporeans would too).

We appreciate privacy, quietness and being close to nature. All three are very hard to find in Singapore.

The closest we came to this ideal was when we rented a private yacht for a short trip in Singapore waters and a short stay at Bintan Island some time back. These are still a far cry from the exclusivity and close privacy of Nikoi Island.
