Rachel and I ate at RamenPlay at Nex some months back. We were not expecting much. Since this was a ramen franchise, we deemed it would probably be serving run-of-the-mill Japanese food of average quality at a reasonable price.
We were rushing for a movie and just wanted to have a quick dinner without too much fuss on details.
RamenPlay is managed under the BreadTalk group of companies. It is a joint venture between Singapore’s BreakTalk Pte Ltd and Japan’s Sanpou Co Ltd.
Although the presentation was a little tardy, the ramen was surprisingly better than we expected.
I had one of their shoyu ramen while Rachel ordered a mini ramen set which comes with an accompanying side dish and drink. She chose gyoza for side and a glass of green tea for the drink.
I won’t say RamenPlay serves the tastiest ramen in Singapore, but for the menu price range, they are definitely a notch above other ramen franchise competitors like Ajisen Ramen.

I wouldn’t eat here again. The ramen is not Q and the soup base is utterly forgettable.
The ramen I had today at Ramenplay RWS was good, but our fried rice took FORTY MINUTES to come. And guess what, while the flavour of the rice was still reasonable, the pork cutlet was completely cold.
Disgusting.
