Rachel has a sweet tooth and gets excited whenever we chance upon any new dessert restaurants.
Hence when we passed by Honeymoon Dessert (满记甜品) at VivoCity while shopping, we had to try it despite the long queue outside the restaurant.
Honeymoon Dessert hails from Hong Kong with its first shop established in the Sai Kung District of Hong Kong in 1995. They have since expanded into a global franchise with many outlets in China and Indonesia. The VivoCity outlet is currently their first and only outlet in Singapore.
We ordered two of their signature desserts, “Black Pearl” in Vanilla Sauce with Ice-cream and Grass Jelly in Red Bean Soup with Ice-cream.
The serving was quite generous and we barely managed to finish the two bowls. Prices range from around $3.50 to $8 each, with a variety of over 100 items to choose from.
Rachel and I have a preference for Chinese and Asian desserts over western fares, but there are less of such dessert outlets in Singapore. We are happy that there’s now Honeymoon Dessert available:
