On the first day of Chinese New Year, after I was done with relatives visiting, Rachel and I proceeded down to Mark and Mei Yen‘s home for dinner.

Both their parents were on holiday abroad, hence they invited us over for a steamboat/barbecue dinner. as they did not have to go relatives visiting.

Here are the pictures for the day:

On board the condo shuttle bus
Full menu - for just 4 pax
Wagyu beef, which according to Mark, costs around S$2 per slice
Fatty prawns, which according to Mark, also costs around S$2 each
Kurobuta pork
Rachel is more engrossed with Little Nonya on TV than the food
Eat finish already!

It's rare to see Mark helping out - here's another priceless picture
Mark's Transformers toy collection - just moved in from his old house
More Transformers!

The dinner was great – the Wagyu beef and Kurobuta pork were “explode in your mouth” quality. Thanks Mark and Meiyen for the sumptuous dinner. Rachel and I made a mental note to ourselves to treat them to dinner at my place next time round.

After dinner, Mark showed off a new batch of Transformers toys which he just moved in from his old house. To see more of his collection, you can click HERE. The shift is not complete yet, there’s still about a quarter of these figurines in his old house.

We watched “Die Hard 4” on blu-ray DVD to round up the day. The blu-ray quality was crisp clear. Together with Mark’s projector screen, sofa seat and booming sound system, the cinematic experience was better than at the local theatres. Pity Rachel and I are both not fans of big bang and loud explosions Hollywood movies though – we fell asleep halfway through…

Following the sleep-inducing movie; Rachel and I went home with very full bellies, but also very tired:

going home
