Leica Eyecare has officially introduced its premium spectacle lens portfolio in Singapore, bringing its expertise in precision optics to everyday vision correction and specialised eyewear. The launch took place at Leica Store South Beach Quarter on 27 October 2026 under the theme “Unblur the World”.
A subsidiary of Leica Camera AG, Leica Eyecare specialises in high-quality, custom-made spectacle lenses. The launch builds on Leica’s heritage of more than 150 years in precision optics, German craftsmanship and innovative design, extending the brand’s optical expertise beyond cameras and imaging equipment.
The collection caters to different vision needs and lifestyles, covering progressive and single vision lenses, office lenses and specialised solutions for driving, sports and photography. The central idea behind “Unblur the World” is to encourage people to see the world clearly and authentically, appreciating its details and imperfections rather than relying on filters or artificial visual ideals.
For people who need vision correction at different distances, Leica Eyecare offers VARIOVID, its premium progressive lens range. Designed for those with presbyopia, short sightedness or far sightedness, VARIOVID combines near and distance vision in a single lens, making it suitable for activities such as reading, working, using a smartphone and looking at distant objects. Available in four versions, the range can be customised according to individual prescriptions and lifestyle requirements. Its production technology is designed to support adaptation to new lenses while optimising visual ranges and encouraging a natural head and body posture.
For everyday vision correction, MONOVID is Leica Eyecare’s premium single vision lens range. It caters to short sightedness, far sightedness and astigmatism, with a thin and lightweight profile even for more complex prescriptions. Those who spend much of their day switching between screens, documents and smartphones can also consider MONOVID DIGITAL, which provides additional support for close up viewing across different directions.
For office environments and extended screen use, DIGIVID is designed to provide clear vision when working across laptops, smartphones and tablets. The office lens aims to support a more natural head and body posture during prolonged periods of close-up work. It can also be equipped with optional Eye Safety Material technology, which the company says absorbs up to 100% of high energy blue light without compromising the lens aesthetics.
Leica Eyecare’s specialised offerings extend to driving, sports and photography. VARIOVID DRIVE is designed for changing lighting and weather conditions and is available in both single vision and progressive designs.
For active users, VARIOVID SPORT and MONOVID SPORT feature lens geometries adapted for dynamic vision. These designs aim to reduce peripheral distortion and provide smoother transitions between visual zones during movement.
Photography enthusiasts and professionals can also look to DIGIVID PHOTO, a lens designed around the different viewing requirements of camera work. It features two visual areas for viewing through the camera viewfinder, looking at distant subjects and reviewing images on the camera display. The lens is also designed to provide a large depth of field, high transparency and natural colour rendition.
