The camp was announced by the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and Sport Singapore (SportSG). It will take place at OCBC Arena at The Kallang, with current and former WNBA and FIBA players and coaches mentoring participants throughout the programme.

The coaching line up will include Ariel Atkins of the Los Angeles Sparks, a 2019 WNBA champion and FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 champion; Jordin Canada of the Atlanta Dream, a two-time WNBA champion and 2021 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champion; and Bridget Carleton of the Portland Fire, a 2024 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champion and member of Canada’s women’s national team.

They will be joined by Chelsea Gray of the Las Vegas Aces, a four-time WNBA champion and two-time FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup champion; Brittney Griner of the Connecticut Sun, a 2014 WNBA champion and two-time FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup champion; and Kristi Toliver, a two-time WNBA champion, former member of Slovakia’s women’s national team and current associate head coach of the Phoenix Mercury.

The 80 participants will take part in athletic testing, movement efficiency training, skill development stations, three on three competitions, life skills seminars and five on five games. The camper roster will be announced in the coming weeks.

Beyond on court development, the programme will include community initiatives in collaboration with SportSG. These will feature a basketball clinic for 50 girls, a coaches clinic and a referees clinic.

Women’s BWB Next Up 2026 marks the third time the global basketball development programme has been held in Singapore. The city previously hosted BWB Asia in 2010 and 2025.

The camp is part of BWB Next Up, launched by the NBA and FIBA in conjunction with the programme’s 25th anniversary. The initiative introduces two annual camps for the top 80 male prospects and top 80 female prospects from outside the United States. Top performing participants will be selected to attend BWB All Star camps held alongside the following NBA All Star and AT&T WNBA All Star events.

The inaugural Men’s BWB Next Up camp took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, in August 2026.

A closing ceremony on 21 November will recognise outstanding participants with five awards: the Kim Bohuny Camp MVP, Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award, Sport Singapore 2026 Three-Point Champion, Defensive MVP and Playoff MVP. The awards will recognise players who stand out through their performances and leadership during the camp.

Since its launch in 2001, Basketball Without Borders has reached more than 5,200 participants from 150 countries and territories. A total of 155 former campers have gone on to play in the NBA or WNBA, including 23 who have advanced to the WNBA.

Former participants who have progressed to the women’s professional league include Kamilla Cardoso of the Chicago Sky, Aaliyah Edwards of the Connecticut Sun, Awak Kuier of the Dallas Wings, Ezi Magbegor of the Seattle Storm, Dominique Malonga of the Seattle Storm, Jade Melbourne of the Seattle Storm, Iliana Rupert of the Golden State Valkyries and Han Xu of the New York Liberty. Their previous BWB participation included camps held between 2016 and 2022.

The NBA and FIBA have organised 87 BWB camps across 56 cities in 36 countries on six continents. Nike, a global partner of the programme since 2002, will support the Singapore camp by providing apparel and footwear for participants.
