YASHICA Crew Compact Camera Packs 6x Optical Zoom, 4K Video and a 180-Degree Flip Screen

YASHICA has introduced the YASHICA Crew, a compact digital point and shoot camera designed for travel, everyday photography and content creation. Featuring a retractable 6x optical zoom lens, a 180-degree flip screen and video recording of up to 4K at 60 frames per second, the new camera combines portable design with features for capturing photos and videos on the go.

The YASHICA Crew is built around the idea of shared experiences, with its name reflecting the role of photography in bringing friends, families, travel groups and creative teams together. Its 3.0-inch flip screen rotates 180 degrees, making it easier for users to frame selfies, group photographs, vlogs and candid moments while remaining part of the scene.

A key feature is its retractable 6x optical zoom lens, which extends when the camera is switched on and retracts into the body when powered off. The optical zoom allows users to capture distant subjects while retaining image detail, while an additional 3x digital zoom provides more flexibility when framing shots.

Despite its zoom capabilities, the Crew remains compact enough for everyday carry. It measures 10 x 2.6 x 6cm with the lens retracted and 10 x 5.3 x 6cm with the lens extended. The camera weighs 126g without its battery, making it suitable for carrying in a pocket, handbag or small backpack.

For photography and video, the camera captures images at up to 36 megapixels, with additional resolution options of 24 megapixels and 13 megapixels. It supports native 2.7K video recording, with 4K recording at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and up to 60 frames per second.

The camera is designed to offer an accessible alternative for people who want to explore photography beyond their smartphones without dealing with complicated settings. Its point and shoot approach is intended to help beginners and experienced users focus on composition, lighting and capturing everyday moments.

The flip screen and video capabilities also make it suitable for content creators recording travel diaries, behind the scenes footage and daily activities. For group outings and family gatherings, users can position the camera and adjust the screen to include everyone in the frame without relying on someone else to take the photograph.

Power comes from a removable 700mAh lithium-ion battery. Users can carry spare batteries to extend shooting time during longer outings, although actual battery life will depend on usage.

The YASHICA Crew will be available in two finishes, Black and Silver. The Black version features a minimalist appearance, while the Silver edition takes inspiration from the design of YASHICA’s classic cameras.

The camera is available for pre order, with fulfilment expected to begin in late October 2026. Its suggested retail price is HKD 1,320 or US$168.
