Produced by Toei Animation, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus presents an enhanced edition of the Dragon Ball Super storyline surrounding Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his encounter with Goku. The series features enhanced and newly created animation and visuals while drawing from the original story, character designs and creative vision of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.

The story takes place several years after the battle against Majin Buu, when Earth has returned to a period of relative peace. That peace is disrupted when Beerus awakens from a long sleep. Even the Kai and Supreme Kai fear his immense power, knowing that the God of Destruction has the ability to destroy entire planets.

Beerus soon hears rumours about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza and sets out to find Goku. His arrival places Earth in danger and sets the stage for a cosmic battle between Beerus, Goku and their allies, with the conflict threatening to shake the entire universe.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will stream with subtitles on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Europe.

The series credits Akira Toriyama for the original work, story and character design, with Matsuto Seya handling composition and direction arrangement. Tadayoshi Yamamuro serves as animation character designer and general animation director, while Eiichi Nishimura is credited for editing and Yōsuke Motoki for compositing direction. Music is composed by Norihito Sumitomo, with Toei Animation serving as the production company.

The voice cast includes Masako Nozawa as Son Goku and Kōichi Yamadera as Beerus.
