Amap, Alibaba’s location-based services platform, and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have launched Singapore Street Stars, a new set of themed rankings designed to help Chinese travellers discover both well-known attractions and lesser-known local spots across Singapore.

The initiative features seven themed rankings covering 104 attractions, neighbourhoods and lifestyle destinations. It also gives participating restaurants, hotels and retailers another platform to reach Chinese visitors and understand their travel interests.

Singapore Street Stars marks the first international edition of Amap Street Stars developed in partnership with a national tourism board. The launch follows a memorandum of understanding signed by Amap and STB in Beijing on 2 June, covering travel discovery, trip planning and on-the-ground services for Chinese travellers before and during their visits to Singapore.

The partnership comes as Amap records increased interest in Singapore travel information during the 2026 summer travel season. According to platform data, the average daily number of users searching for Singapore-related content increased by 52.3% compared with June 2026. Searches for attractions rose by 91.2%, while queries related to shopping and dining increased by 87.4% and 70.9% respectively.

The seven Singapore Street Stars themes are Photo-Perfect Spots, Where Family Fun Begins, After-Dark Adventures, Next-Gen Crowd Favourites, Nature’s Reset, Curated Finds, and Local Life, Real Finds.

Featured destinations include major attractions such as Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park and Sentosa Island, alongside neighbourhoods and local destinations including Joo Chiat Road, Haji Lane, Maxwell Food Centre and Tiong Bahru Market.

Amap is also piloting its Flying Street View feature at selected Singapore attractions. Using 360-degree panoramic imagery, the feature allows travellers to preview attractions and their surrounding areas while planning their trips.

The initial locations include Merlion Park, Sentosa Island, Universal Studios Singapore, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Zoo and Jewel Changi Airport. Selected restaurants and hotels featured in the Street Stars rankings will also be included.

Chinese travellers already in Singapore can search for attractions and other places of interest in Chinese through the Amap app. The platform also allows users to arrange airport transfers, pre-arranged car services and on-demand rides through local operators.

Built-in translation features can assist communication between travellers and drivers, while the app also supports commonly used Chinese mobile payment methods.

Amap plans to promote the themed content and curated travel routes during peak Chinese travel periods, including the Golden Week holiday. The initiative is intended to help Chinese visitors discover more of Singapore while providing local businesses with additional exposure as travellers plan their itineraries.
