POCO X8 Arrives in Singapore with 8,340mAh Battery and Beyond Two-Day Endurance

POCO has introduced the new POCO X8 in Singapore, positioning the smartphone as an endurance focused device built for users who want longer battery life, a large display and dependable everyday performance. Pre orders for the new smartphone begin on September 4, 2026 at 5pm Singapore time.

At the centre of the POCO X8 is its 8,340mAh battery, which offers 63.2% more capacity than its predecessor. The battery uses silicon carbon technology with 13% silicon content and is designed to provide more than two days of use on a single charge.

The battery is also built with long term durability in mind. POCO says it can retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, equivalent to around six years of regular use. The smartphone has also undergone testing across extreme temperatures, mechanical stress and battery life cycles, earning TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification.

When it does need a recharge, the POCO X8 supports 67W HyperCharge. Its 22.5W wired reverse charging feature also allows the phone to provide power to other compatible devices, effectively turning it into a portable power source when needed.

The smartphone features a 6.83 inch 1.5K ultra bright display designed for entertainment, gaming and everyday browsing. It reaches up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness across 25% of the screen, helping maintain visibility in bright outdoor conditions. A flagship grade luminous material is also used to deliver brighter visuals while improving power efficiency.

For extended viewing, the POCO X8 comes with TÜV Rheinland eye care certifications aimed at improving visual comfort during prolonged use.

The phone adopts a minimalist design with geometric elements and sharp lines, while its sandblasted middle frame is designed to provide a more comfortable grip. The flat display features narrow bezels for a spacious viewing experience.

Durability is another key feature. The POCO X8 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings. It also introduces POCO’s first Underwater Mode, allowing users to capture images and videos in water. The feature can be used for moments with friends and family in the water or for photographing aquatic life in fish tanks.

The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with POCO stating that the screen can withstand direct drops of up to three metres while offering enhanced resistance against scratches.

Under the hood, the POCO X8 is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm process. An integrated Adreno GPU supports high-definition gaming and demanding 3D applications, while the processor is designed to handle everyday tasks, app launches and multitasking smoothly.

The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and includes Xiaomi HyperIsland for smart features as well as Google Gemini as a built in AI assistant. Xiaomi Offline Communication is also supported, allowing users to communicate in areas without conventional network coverage.

Audio output can be boosted by up to 300%, giving users louder sound whether they are listening at home or on the go.

For photography, the POCO X8 features a 50MP main camera with OIS and EIS, paired with a 16MP front camera. The system is designed to produce natural looking portraits across different lighting conditions.

The phone also includes Dual video, which allows users to record footage from the front and rear cameras simultaneously. After taking photos, users can further edit their images using AI powered tools including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Image Enhancement and AI Beautify.

The POCO X8 will be available in Singapore in an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. It comes in White, Black and Orange, with a recommended retail price of SGD 499.
