VivoCity is bringing Sanrio favourites to life this Mid-Autumn Festival with a month-long celebration at its Sky Park, combining glowing lanterns, larger than life character installations, immersive gardens, family activities and festive shopping experiences.

Running from 25 August to 27 September 2026, Sanrio Characters Moonlit Garden at VivoCity is one of the highlights of the mall’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The event transforms the Sky Park into an open-air garden inspired by Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, Hangyodon and Pompompurin.
As night falls, thousands of lights will illuminate six themed environments designed around the personalities of the featured Sanrio characters. Visitors can explore lantern filled gardens, waterscapes, carnival attractions and waterfront photo spots while experiencing Mid-Autumn traditions through a Sanrio inspired setting.

At Kuromi Carnival Kingdom, visitors can enjoy carnival games and take a ride on the Mini Express Train. A Sanrio retail pop up at the East Court on Level 1, near CHAGEE, will also offer official merchandise, accessories, lifestyle products and collectibles from 25 August to 27 September, from 10am to 10pm.
Sanrio fans will also have opportunities to meet selected characters in person during limited capacity Meet and Greet sessions on 29 and 30 August, 5 and 6 September and 19 September. Shoppers who spend at least S$80 in a single receipt can redeem a Meet and Greet Pass, subject to availability and other terms and conditions. Each session is limited to the first 30 qualifying redemptions on a first come first served basis.

Seven two-metre-tall Sanrio character inflatables will also be placed at various locations around VivoCity from 25 August to 27 September, giving shoppers additional opportunities to take photographs and discover fun facts about the characters.
Sanrio themed products and seasonal merchandise will also be available at participating VivoCity stores including Crocs, Daiso Japan and Goldheart.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair returns to VivoCity from 25 August to 25 September at the Central Court on Level 1. The fair will feature products from nearly 50 brands, including traditional baked mooncakes, snowskin mooncakes, premium teas, festive gift sets and gourmet delicacies.

Shoppers can also redeem limited edition Sanrio character premiums during the campaign. A minimum spend of S$250 in up to two same day receipts will qualify shoppers for a Sanrio Characters Toiletries Pouch, while spending S$400 in up to two same day receipts will unlock an additional Sanrio Characters Foldable Umbrella, subject to availability.

VivoRewards and Kids Club members will have access to additional rewards. Kids Club members who spend at least S$120 in a single receipt at participating stores can redeem a Sanrio Characters Lantern. New VivoRewards members who sign up during the campaign and make a qualifying first transaction of at least S$150 will receive a S$5 VivoCity eVoucher credited to their eWallet. Families joining the VivoCity Kids Club during the campaign can also receive a complimentary DIY Bag Tag while stocks last.

The celebrations also tie in with VivoCity’s 20th anniversary through a series of VC20 activities. At the Cinnamoroll Secret Garden Grove, visitors can take part in the VC20 Lantern Trail and Lantern Riddle Challenge from 25 August to 27 September. Participants who successfully complete the riddles can be among the first 50 participants each hour between 5pm and 9pm to receive an exclusive Sanrio sticker set, while stocks last.
The VC20 Mooncake Challenge will take place on 12 and 13 September and again on 26 and 27 September from 4pm to 8pm. Participants will have 20 seconds to pack as many oversized VC20 mooncake plushies as possible, with bigger rewards available for higher scores. Shoppers need to spend at least S$50 in a single same day receipt to participate, with the activity limited to the first 250 unique qualifying participants each day.
For a nostalgic taste of Singapore, VivoCity will also partner Food Republic to distribute traditional Ding Ding Candy on selected weekends. The first 300 shoppers each day can receive a complimentary serving on 29 and 30 August, 5 and 6 September and 12 and 13 September, from 7pm to 9pm or while stocks last.
Another limited-edition item is the VC20 x The Art Faculty Thermal Bottle, featuring specially commissioned artwork by artists from The Art Faculty. From 20 August, VivoRewards members who spend at least S$180 in up to two same day receipts can redeem the bottle while stocks last.
For every bottle redeemed, VivoCity and Mapletree will donate S$2 to the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), turning the campaign reward into a contribution towards supporting and empowering differently abled artists.
VivoRewards members can also redeem VRPoints for selected dining, shopping and lifestyle offers through the VivoRewards app as part of the monthly VC20 Flash 20 Deals.
