This National Day, NEX is bringing together some of Singapore’s best loved local brands, heritage flavours and exclusive rewards in a celebration of the nation’s rich culture and community spirit. From iconic cafés and traditional bakeries to homegrown fashion and limited-edition collectibles, shoppers can look forward to a weekend filled with familiar tastes and uniquely Singaporean experiences.

One of the biggest highlights is the arrival of Chin Mee Chin, which opens at NEX on 8 August. The beloved heritage café is launching its first outlet outside Katong, marking its first expansion in more than a century. The new location continues the café’s legacy with signature favourites including kaya toast, house made kaya and Nanyang kopi, while introducing new offerings such as Kaya Custard Choux au Craquelin, Kaya Cloud Kopi and Curry Potato Pie. The opening gives shoppers another opportunity to experience one of Singapore’s most treasured culinary institutions.

NEX also continues to showcase local flavours through Graffiti Café, which is exclusive to the mall. The café serves familiar comfort food including its signature wanton noodles, crispy chicken cutlet noodles and nostalgic desserts such as almond jelly with longan and black glutinous rice, offering diners a taste of everyday Singaporean favourites.

Visitors can also enjoy traditional kopitiam flavours at Oriental Kopi, where signature kaya butter toast, handcrafted kopi, Oriental egg tarts, polo buns, nasi lemak and curry laksa are served in a contemporary setting inspired by classic coffee shops.

For those with a sweet tooth, Thye Moh Chan continues to preserve Singapore’s rich Teochew baking heritage with its handcrafted pastries. Best known for its signature tau sar piah, the heritage bakery also offers favourites including salted mung bean pastries, yam pastries and other traditional baked treats that have been enjoyed for generations.

Beyond food, shoppers can discover local fashion at The Cheongsam Shopee, a Singapore label that gives the traditional cheongsam a modern update through contemporary designs while celebrating the nation’s cultural heritage.
