Pangdemonium has announced that its final production will be the acclaimed musical Come From Away, marking the end of the Singapore theatre company’s 16-year journey with a story that celebrates compassion, resilience and the power of community. Early bird and public ticket sales are now open for the production, which will run at Victoria Theatre from 11 to 27 September 2026.
Featuring book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the Olivier Award winning musical will be directed by Pangdemonium Associate Director Timothy Koh, who makes his musical directorial debut with the production. Rather than ending its journey with a quiet farewell, Pangdemonium has chosen a story that reflects its longstanding belief in theatre as a way to foster empathy, encourage dialogue and highlight the shared experiences that bring people together.
Set in the aftermath of the events of 11 September 2001, Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of Gander, a small Canadian town that welcomed nearly 7,000 stranded passengers after 38 international flights were diverted following the closure of United States airspace. Faced with an unexpected humanitarian crisis, the town’s residents opened their homes, schools and community spaces to complete strangers, providing food, shelter, clothing and comfort during a period of global uncertainty.
Presented during the 25th anniversary year of the 9/11 attacks, the musical shifts its focus from tragedy to the extraordinary acts of kindness that emerged in its aftermath. Through stories of generosity, understanding and human connection across different cultures, faiths and nationalities, the production serves as a fitting conclusion to Pangdemonium’s legacy and an invitation for audiences to reflect on the values that unite communities.
Unlike traditional musicals built around a single central character, Come From Away is driven by an ensemble cast portraying residents, passengers, pilots, volunteers and family members whose stories intersect throughout the production. The cast features Benjamin Chow, Inch Chua, Candice de Rozario, Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai, Sheila Francisco, Eric Larrea, Dwayne Lau, Gavin Leahy, Lim Yu-Beng, Victoria Mintey and Nadya Zaheer. Together, they highlight how meaningful change is created through collective action rather than individual heroism, mirroring Pangdemonium’s collaborative approach to theatre.
The production also marks an important milestone for Timothy Koh. Since joining Pangdemonium as Associate Director in 2022, he has directed Muswell Hill, Doubt: A Parable, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Singapore, Michigan. His work on Doubt: A Parable and Singapore, Michigan earned nominations for Production of the Year and Best Director at The Straits Times Life Theatre Awards in 2024 and 2026. With Come From Away, Koh takes on his first large scale musical, bringing his thoughtful and character driven style to one of contemporary theatre’s most celebrated productions.
Alongside the musical, Pangdemonium will release a limited-edition commemorative book titled Ass-Kicking Adventures in Theatre: The Pangdemonium Story. Created as a tribute to the company’s 16–year history, the pictorial publication chronicles its productions, creative collaborations and memorable moments through archival photographs, reflections and behind the scenes material. Limited to 500 copies, the book is priced at S$45 and will be available for purchase online, as an add on with Come From Away tickets, or at Victoria Theatre during the production’s run.
Come From Away will run from 11 to 27 September 2026 at Victoria Theatre, with tickets priced from S$25. Audiences can enjoy 15 percent off standard tickets during the early bird promotion from 27 July to 9 August 2026 by using the promo code EARLY15. Ticket prices range from S$40 for preview performances, S$45 to S$105 for off peak shows, and S$50 to S$125 for peak performances. U25 Youth Fund tickets will also be available for selected performances at S$25, and SG Culture Pass credits can be used toward ticket purchases.
