Science Centre Singapore Offers Free Admission for SG Science Fest 2026 During National Day Weekend

Science Centre Singapore is inviting Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to enjoy free admission during SG Science Fest 2026, a three-day celebration of science, discovery and family friendly activities taking place from 8 to 10 August 2026 over the National Day long weekend.

This year’s festival transforms the Science Centre into an ocean themed adventure packed with interactive experiences, mystery quests, live science shows, water games and special programmes at the Omni Theatre and KidsSTOP. Visitors can also look forward to the debut of Quby as the festival’s newest companion for discovery. Marking the sticker character’s 10th anniversary, Quby will appear throughout the event with storytelling experiences, interactive visual displays and photo opportunities that add a playful touch to science learning.

One of the festival’s headline attractions is Shipwrecked: Uncover the Mystery, a self-guided investigation that challenges participants to solve the mystery behind a shipwreck. Equipped with an investigation journal, visitors will search for clues, decode evidence and solve puzzles inspired by real scientific methods as they make their way around the Science Centre.

The festival will also feature Robot’s Bytes to Bites, an entertaining live science show where a robot competes against a local hawker in a culinary showdown featuring dramatic fire demonstrations and liquid nitrogen experiments. Audiences can discover whether technology or experience comes out on top.

Outdoor activities promise plenty of excitement with Splash Battle, where teams compete in 10 versus 10 water battles to soak the opposing team’s base, while What Time Is It, Mr. Shark? gives the familiar childhood game a refreshing twist by challenging participants to race against the clock or risk getting drenched.

Inside the Science Centre, visitors can take part in hands on marine science activities including detecting biofouling, experimenting with corrosion, exploring ship buoyancy and simulating coral restoration through coral fragment cultivation and planting activities.

Guests can also join the festival wide Charm Rally, collecting locally inspired stickers from activity stations throughout the Centre to decorate a personalised acrylic keychain as a keepsake from the event.

Young visitors will have their own dedicated experience at SG Science Fest Juniors in KidsSTOP. The programme takes children through three themed zones known as Island Cove, Ocean Depths and Research Reef, introducing topics such as Singapore’s maritime heritage, sustainable seafood, marine biodiversity, ocean pollution and coral reef conservation through interactive learning experiences.

The celebrations begin a day before the official festival with Observatory Night on 7 August, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy stargazing. During the festival weekend, 10-year-old musician Shayne, one of Singapore’s youngest licensed buskers, will perform during selected screenings of Earth: Our Only Home at the Omni Theatre. The planetarium presentation, narrated live by a Science Centre educator, explores how Earth’s oceans are interconnected and help sustain life on the planet.

SG Science Fest 2026 runs daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm from 8 to 10 August. Admission is free for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, while standard admission charges apply for other visitors.

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents can also purchase a special bundle that includes admission to the festival and the ONE Ocean exhibition for S$9, offering savings of up to 50 per cent and including the ONE Ocean virtual reality experience, subject to availability. Families visiting KidsSTOP can enjoy the SG Science Fest Junior bundle priced at S$5 per adult and S$10 per child.

Visitors planning to participate in the Splash Battle are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, with shower and changing facilities available at the venue. As parking is limited, guests are advised to use public transport or park at Jurong Town Hall, where a complimentary shuttle service will operate to and from the Science Centre throughout the event.
