Taiwanese fashion label iROO has teamed up with Singapore oldest board game store, PI Games, to encourage the community to put our phones away and rediscover the simple joy of play. This exciting collaboration brings Playtime by iROO to the Singapore Retail Festival 2026, located at Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza, from 17 to 19 July.
The two part experiential activation is free for the public to join and will run daily from 12pm to 8pm.
Designed around the core philosophy that some of life best moments occur when we unplug and show up, the event invites visitors to participate in the Pause & Reconnect Fun Challenge and the iROO Doll Up Playhouse Experience.
Emily Huang, Chief Operating Officer of iROO, explains that the brand believes life is best lived with joy, presence, and a little bit of play. She hopes the interactive space allows people to step away from their screens and connect with one another while experiencing the iROO world in a highly memorable way.

The interactive journey begins with Mission 1, known as the Chef Challenge, which takes place earlier from 13 to 19 July at the iROO Store located at B2-36 in Ngee Ann City. In this mission, participants must assemble the perfect yakitori skewer by matching a card exactly. By completing all five challenge cards, visitors earn an iROO Playtime Mission Pass and the coveted title of Digital Detox Challenger.

Securing this pass opens up the chance to enter the main events from 17 to 19 July at Booths 25 and 26 at the Civic Plaza. Here, challengers can compete in Rounds 2 and 3 of the Fun Games Challenge.
Mission 2 is the Catch My Fish Challenge, a fast paced strategy game for three players per round where the goal is to outsmart competitors to collect the most fish as the fastest penguin on the ice.

Mission 3, the Scientist Challenge, requires steady hands and a fast brain as three players race for approximately 10 minutes to mix the right chemicals in the correct order under pressure.

The combined scores from these rounds will determine the ultimate Pause & Reconnect Champion, with the scoreboard available for viewing at the iROO store.
KianWee Ong, Manager of PI Games, notes that modern lives are full of rushing and endless scrolling. He emphasises that table games facilitate human connection, strengthen social bonds, and build a friendlier future for everyone.
Attractive prizes await the top Digital Detox Challengers.
The Digital Detox Champion will receive iROO vouchers (S$538), while the first runner up will secure iROO vouchers (S$338), and the second runner up will take home iROO vouchers (S$238). Other fantastic rewards include the Catch Sketch Game (S$47.90) for fourth to sixth place, the Codenames SG Edition Game (S$39.90) for seventh to ninth place, and iROO vouchers (S$38) for tenth to fifteenth place. Winners will be officially announced at the iROO store on 19 July at 8:30pm.

Beyond the board games, fashion enthusiasts can step into the Doll Up Playhouse Experience at the Civic Plaza. Dressed in curated fashion pieces from iROO, guests can strike their most iconic poses for a professional photographer.
Participants will walk away with a complimentary 4 by 6 inch photo printout as a memory of the day. To make the moment even more rewarding, visitors who share their best shots on Instagram, tag the brand, and use the official hashtags have a chance to win even more. The top three posts with the most likes will each receive an iROO voucher worth S$100.

Photos must be posted by 31 August, 2026, and winners will be revealed in the first week of September 2026.
