Billed as Asia’s first adventure-based wildlife park, the expanded attraction combines wildlife encounters with varying levels of physical activities designed for different types of visitors. The newly opened East zone adds more Adventure+ experiences, bringing the total across the park to nine.

Among the new activities are the Canopy Glider, where guests can glide through the treetops, and the Ravine Swing, which lifts riders eight metres above the ground. Visitors looking for more physically demanding experiences can take on Split Rock Summit, an 11-metre climb with panoramic views, Primate Climb for elevated views of Diana monkeys, and Treetop Traverse, a 125-metre harnessed course suspended above the forest floor.

Spanning seven hectares, Rainforest Wild Adventure East draws inspiration from Afro tropical and Madagascan landscapes. One of its headline additions is the okapi, making its Southeast Asian debut. Native to the dense rainforests of the Congo in Central Africa, the endangered species is recognised for its deep brown coat and zebra-striped legs, despite being the giraffe’s closest living relative.

The park is now home to four okapis that arrived from zoos in Europe under the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria’s Ex situ Programme, which supports genetically diverse breeding populations for threatened species.

Visitors can also encounter species including pygmy hippos, eastern bongos, red river hogs and Nile lechwes. A multi species Madagascar habitat will feature lemurs, turacos and ibises. The habitats are designed to allow animals to roam naturally, with visibility and activity levels varying throughout the day.

To mark the soft opening, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia and Mandai Wildlife Group are launching Singapore’s first National Geographic pop-up stores at the park’s East and West retail outlets. The spaces will feature National Geographic Apparel collections alongside interior displays inspired by iconic National Geographic imagery.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East will operate daily from 9am to 6pm, with last admission at 5pm. Admission tickets cover access to both East and West zones, with free shuttle services connecting the two areas. The M1 East-West shuttle links the eastern and western clusters within Mandai Wildlife Reserve, while the M2 Khatib Shuttle Bus connects visitors to Khatib MRT station every 15 to 20 minutes.
