OPPO has officially launched the OPPO Photography Awards 2026, alongside a new global creative initiative developed with Discovery, positioning Singapore as the global launchpad for its “Culture in a Shot” 2026 programme.
The announcement marks the return of OPPO’s annual photography competition, which continues to provide a global platform for mobile photographers and creators to showcase visual storytelling through smartphones.
This year’s edition introduces expanded creative categories, new filmmaking opportunities, and a total prize pool of US$76,500.
Building on last year’s theme “Super Every Moment,” the 2026 Awards introduce two new categories, Super Video and Super Zoom, expanding the competition into six categories alongside Journey, Me, Live, and Snap.
For the first time, OPPO is formally recognising video as a standalone category. The Super Video segment aims to highlight how short-form and cinematic mobile video have become essential tools for modern storytelling.
OPPO also announced deeper integration with social platforms, including collaboration with Meta to enhance video sharing on Instagram. Users of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra will be able to share near-lossless video quality, ensuring content remains close to its original form when posted online.
The new Super Zoom category focuses on OPPO’s advances in mobile imaging and telescope zoom technology, enabling users to capture distant subjects with enhanced clarity and detail traditionally associated with standalone cameras.
A major highlight of this year’s initiative is the launch of the Filmmaker Accelerator Program, created in partnership with Discovery.
Selected creators who submit entries under the Super Video category will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from industry professionals, produce short films with full creative support, and potentially see their work broadcast globally.
Participants may also receive production grants from OPPO to support their projects.
OPPO is expanding its creator development ecosystem through several new initiatives aimed at nurturing young talent:
These initiatives aim to support long-term creative growth beyond the competition itself.
The OPPO Photography Awards 2026 introduces a broader awards structure, offering 38 awards and recognitions across multiple categories.
In addition to Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards, participants can also earn:
A new monthly contest format has also been introduced to provide ongoing opportunities for creators to gain feedback, exposure, and progression into the main competition.
This year’s judging panel features a mix of internationally recognised photography and film professionals, including Hasselblad Masters Tina Signesdottir Hult and Wang Jianjun, along with senior industry figures from Warner Bros. Discovery and leading OPPO imaging executives.
Entries for the OPPO Photography Awards 2026 are now open to creators worldwide using OPPO, OnePlus, or realme devices.
Monthly contests will continue throughout the year with rotating themes and additional submission opportunities.
