River Wonders is throwing a capybara-sized party, and everyone’s invited. From 3 April to 3 May 2026, guests can join “It’s a Capy Celebration”, a month-long series of adorable, educational, and photo-worthy activities to celebrate the 100-day milestone of the park’s newest capybara pup.
Born to resident capybaras Muniek and Luna, the male pup is the star of the festivities. Visitors can meet him and his family at Amazonia Encounters, where scheduled enrichment sessions will feature special treats like hand-crafted ice cakes and woven fire hose reels filled with snacks. Keepers will also be on hand to share fascinating stories about capybara behaviour, care routines, and conservation.
A Trail of Fun: Capy Crew Trail
Guests can embark on the Capy Crew Trail, picking up a Capy Fan Card at the start and uncovering quirky capybara facts along various checkpoints. Completing the trail earns participants a limited-edition capybara handphone strap and a refreshing Ribena slushie, perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring. Don’t forget to snap photos at themed photo points scattered throughout the park.
More Capybara Encounters Throughout the Park
The fun doesn’t end there. Visitors may also catch familiar capybara personalities like Lester and Dexter during the Once Upon a River presentation or while cruising along the Amazon River Quest boat ride.
For an added dose of excitement, River Wonders is hosting a social media contest across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Fans can submit a photo or video of any River Wonders capybara in their cutest or quirkiest moment, along with the name of their favourite capy. Six lucky winners will receive:
- A River Wonders admission ticket
- A Capybara Zookeeper for a Day experience
- A Hello from the Wild: Capybara interaction session
