RIMOWA is once again tapping into its rich heritage of aluminium craftsmanship with the debut of the Classic Aluminium Grid, a numbered limited-edition collection that pays tribute to an archival design from 1969. The German Maison, renowned since 1898 for redefining mobility through precision engineering, will release only 1,969 pieces worldwide.
The new Grid collection revisits a historic hand-carry case design, translating RIMOWA’s iconic grooves into a more geometric, structured pattern. This embossed Grid motif, pressed into the brand’s signature Silver aluminium, creates a bold visual statement while preserving the durability and engineering excellence that have long defined RIMOWA.
Inside, each case features refined leather accents and a quilted lining that mirrors the exterior Grid pattern, bringing a cohesive design language to the entire piece.
Crafted in RIMOWA’s historic Cologne factory, every case in the series comes with the Maison’s lifetime guarantee, spotlighting its mastery in aluminium workmanship. Classic signatures return in the form of leather handles, polished palladium locks, airplane-debossed rivets, and the renowned Multiwheel system paired with a stage-free telescopic handle, ensuring smooth, modern performance.
A standout touch across the range is the introduction of leather elements in a sophisticated Blue hue, a nod to a historic RIMOWA shade. Each case also includes a complimentary leather luggage tag featuring an archival logo, along with a numbered limited-edition badge that marks its uniqueness.
For the first time in an archival special edition, the drop will include multiple formats: a Hand-Carry Case, Cabin Case, and a Trunk, expanding the Grid’s appeal to different types of travellers.
