SHARP Debuts Retro-Inspired Solo Microwave Oven, Combining Vintage Style with Modern Convenience

SHARP has unveiled its first retro-styled Solo Microwave Oven (R-20SR), bringing a touch of vintage charm to contemporary kitchens. The 20-litre countertop appliance merges functional cooking performance with design-forward aesthetics, highlighting how modern home appliances can serve as both tools and style statements.

Vintage Charm in Four Colours

The R-20SR is available in red, blue, white, and pink, featuring a retro-inspired silhouette, analogue control dials, and a pull-handle door that evoke nostalgic kitchen designs. The soft pastels or bold red tones allow homeowners to create either subtle warmth or a standout accent in their kitchen décor.

Compact Design for Modern Homes

With Singaporean homes increasingly embracing clean, minimalist interiors, appliances are chosen not only for function but also for their visual appeal. Measuring 45.2cm (W) x 26.2cm (H) x 35.2cm (D), the R-20SR fits seamlessly on countertops without taking up excessive space, serving as both a practical microwave and a retro décor element.

Practical Everyday Functionality

Powered at 700W, the solo microwave offers six adjustable settings: Low, Defrost, Medium-Low, Medium, Medium-High, and High; making it ideal for reheating, defrosting, and simple cooking tasks. Its quick defrost function further speeds up meal prep, while the 20-litre capacity accommodates daily cooking needs, from warming leftovers to steaming vegetables.

A Legacy of Microwave Innovation

Building on SHARP’s long-standing expertise since introducing its first microwave in 1961, the R-20SR combines decades of engineering innovation with user-centric design to meet the demands of modern households.

Availability and Pricing

The R-20SR Solo Microwave Oven is priced at S$189 (RRP) and is available through SHARP Singapore’s online channels (SHARP website, SHARP Lazada, SHARP Shopee) and at selected outlets of Audio House, Best Denki, COURTS, Gain City, Harvey Norman, and authorized dealers islandwide.
