From 28 February to 28 June 2026, the Sengkang-based mall will operate 18 hours a day, seven days a week, a rare move for a suburban shopping destination and a signal of growing demand for late-night retail and lifestyle experiences beyond the city centre.

A New Era of After-Dark Retail

The shift reflects changing consumer habits in Singapore, where flexible schedules, late-night dining, and after-hours social plans are increasingly common. Rather than limiting activity to central nightlife districts, The Seletar Mall is positioning itself as a neighbourhood hub that keeps pace with modern lifestyles.

To celebrate the extended hours, the mall is launching a lineup of late-night events, promotions and immersive activities designed to keep the buzz going long after sunset.

Downmall Challenge Turns the Mall into a Race Course

Headlining the launch is the Downmall Challenge, a first-of-its-kind overnight cycling spectacle that transforms the mall’s corridors and escalators into a dynamic race course.

Taking place from 28 February to 1 March and sanctioned by the Singapore Cycling Federation, The Seletar Mall Downmall Challenge 2026 blends family-friendly activities with high-octane action.

The centrepiece is the overnight Downmall Biking Race, which runs from Level 4 down to the Level 1 Atrium. Riders will compete across four categories: Weekend Warrior, Open, Masters and Women’s Open; welcoming everyone from first-timers to seasoned competitors who have raced locally and overseas.

By day, the atrium will host BikeTrial demonstrations on Saturday, 28 February, where skilled riders perform balance and control stunts over custom-built obstacles. Visitors can also try a simplified version of the course. On Sunday, 1 March, younger participants can join a Push Bike activity, offering kids a safe and engaging introduction to cycling.

The Downmall Challenge marks the first major event under the mall’s new extended hours, with more large-scale happenings expected in the months ahead.

After-Dark Games and Night Bazaar Fun

The excitement continues from 2 to 9 March with a lively mix of night activities at the Level 1 Atrium.

Visitors can take part in a fast-paced “Floor is Lava” interactive zone and arcade-style games including F1 simulator rides and dart machines. The games run daily from 6pm to 3am (closing at 9pm on the final day).

Entry before 9pm requires a minimum $20 spend in a single receipt at any store in the mall. After 9pm, shoppers simply need to make a purchase at the Night Bazaar and present their receipt.

Running alongside the games is a Night Bazaar (2–9 March, 11am–3am, with selected stalls), offering street snacks and supper bites for late-night cravings.
