Sentosa Sensoryscape is set to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with a first-of-its-kind Chinese New Year celebration, featuring Disney icons Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the award-winning attraction for the very first time. Titled “Gallop into Spring”, the immersive experience blends Disney magic with Chinese tradition, mythology and contemporary multi-sensory design.
Running from 30 January to 3 March 2026, the free event invites guests of all ages to journey through a reimagined Sensoryscape, where timeless legend meets modern storytelling. Inspired by the ancient Chinese tale of the Eight Steeds of King Mu, a classic motif in traditional art and paintings, the celebration offers a fresh interpretation of Chinese New Year festivities through interactive installations that engage all five senses and spark the imagination.
Featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends, guests embark on an imaginative adventure across thoughtfully curated zones, each drawing inspiration from King Mu’s legendary quest. Designed to awaken sight, sound, touch and scent, the experience seamlessly weaves heritage and innovation through interactive displays, artistic installations and immersive environments set against Sentosa’s natural landscape.
At the heart of the celebration stands Yanyang, the Celestial Guardian of King Mu’s steeds and the tallest horse structure ever showcased at Sensoryscape for Chinese New Year. The striking 8-metre-tall centrepiece is located at Tactile Trellis and surrounded by a lush floral landscape, featuring festive blooms such as celosia, a symbol of boldness and enduring love.
Flanking Yanyang are 2.5-metre-tall figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, creating a whimsical yet meaningful focal point. Guests are encouraged to interact with tactile installations that connect them to Yanyang’s eight blessings, each reflecting the spirited energy of the Fire Horse year.
At Lookout Loop, the blessings of the Eight Celestial Horses come to life, with each horse representing wishes such as vitality, harmony and renewal. Designed by local artist JooHeng Tan, the installation invites guests to discover their zodiac reflections on Mickey-themed illuminated boards. Interactive QR codes provide personalised insights and downloadable zodiac-themed phone screensavers as digital keepsakes.
Each zone within Sensoryscape reveals a different layer of the celebration. Scent-themed lantern riddles and interactive moments at the Scented Sphere invite guests to identify familiar aromas tied to festive treats and age-old traditions, offering playful moments of discovery along the way.
Further along the trail, Symphony Streams transforms into a luminous spectacle. Sculpted natural motifs form a radiant peacock crowned with a signature twelve-sided lantern glowing in jewel tones. Disney favourites Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Donald appear throughout the space, lanterns in hand. After nightfall, layered projections bring the lantern to life, enhancing the immersive, multi-sensorial experience.
Adding to the festive atmosphere are traditional Lion-on-Poles performances, alongside roaming walkabout characters that bring cheer and celebration to guests throughout the day.
Beyond Sensoryscape, the spirit of “Gallop into Spring” extends across Sentosa, with more than 15 island businesses coming together to present Chinese New Year offerings throughout the island. Visitors can enjoy exclusive keepsakes, themed photo opportunities, limited-edition merchandise, festive dining experiences, interactive workshops and pop-up installations from beach to hilltop.
Highlights include family-friendly activities and curated celebrations by Sentosa’s island partners, such as Resorts World Sentosa’s “POP MART The Golden Gallop Series” and special dining promotions stretching from Resorts World Sentosa to Sentosa Cove. These collaborative efforts create a cohesive festive atmosphere that brings the celebration to every corner of the island.
Families can also take home a personalised memento of the festivities with customisable Disney Zodiac-Themed Pick-A-Name Plates, available at Sentosa Shop outlets islandwide. Featuring beloved Disney and Pixar characters paired with the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, the collectible plates allow guests to personalise their keepsakes with names and zodiac signs, offering a meaningful blend of tradition and Disney charm.
At Beach Station, a retail pop-up offers guests the chance to create their own Disney and Pixar keyboard DIY keychains, adding another hands-on element to the festive experience.
Sentosa has also collaborated once again with renowned xinyao composer and Singaporean author Dr Liang Wern Fook, who has penned an original poem for Sentosa’s 2026 red packets. Drawing inspiration from Sentosa’s brand identity and signature elements, the evergreen verse blends literary artistry with festive blessings, making the red packets suitable for a variety of celebratory occasions beyond Chinese New Year.
Complementing this collaboration is an installation featuring a pair of larger-than-life red packets adorned with Mickey and Minnie at the end of the Sensoryscape walkway. The installation transforms Dr Liang’s poetry into an immersive photo opportunity, allowing guests to capture moments of prosperity and good fortune alongside the iconic Disney duo.
“Gallop into Spring” runs daily from 30 January to 3 March 2026 at Sentosa Sensoryscape. The experience is free to the public, with festive lights illuminating the walkway each evening from 6.45pm to 9.30pm, offering visitors a magical way to celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse.
