Crunchyroll to Stream Highly Anticipated Shonen Anime Kagurabachi Worldwide from April 2027

Crunchyroll has announced that it will stream the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kagurabachi, based on the hit manga by Takeru Hokazono, beginning in April 2027. The series will be available worldwide through Crunchyroll, excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea and South Korea.

Since its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump, Kagurabachi has become one of the publication’s fastest rising new titles, earning widespread attention for its stylish action, compelling story, and distinctive visual style. Fan anticipation has continued to grow following the release of the anime’s teaser trailer and key visual, which introduced protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira and his enchanted blade, Enten, while offering a glimpse of the battles and conflicts to come.

The anime is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, with character designs by Keigo Sasaki and animation produced by Cypic, the studio known for Umamusume: Cinderella Gray and The Summer Hikaru Died.

The Japanese voice cast currently includes Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira, and Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba. Alongside the announcement of Konishi joining the cast, a new character visual and trailer for Togo Shiba have also been unveiled, giving fans a closer look at one of the story’s key figures.

Ahead of its official television and streaming debut, Kagurabachi will also embark on a global World Tour featuring advance screenings of early episodes. The first leg of the tour will launch at Anime Expo before making stops at Japan Expo, AnimagiC, Otakon, and Anime NYC, giving fans around the world an opportunity to experience the series before its official premiere.

Crunchyroll also confirmed that additional casting announcements and production updates will be shared at a later date as the countdown to the April 2027 premiere continues.
