City Energy is revolutionising the electric vehicle (EV) experience with the launch of Singapore’s first app-free EV charging system. Rolled out by its EV charging arm, Go by City Energy, the new AutoCharge feature allows drivers to simply plug in and power up—no QR codes, no logins—just seamless green mobility across Singapore and Malaysia.
This one-time-setup solution, available through the Go by City Energy app (also known as City Energy Go on iOS and Android), brings unmatched convenience to EV users. Through a partnership with Malaysia’s EV Connection and its JomCharge network, the app-free experience is now live at over 200 charge points regionally.
At launch, AutoCharge will be available at:
More locations will be added progressively as the rollout continues across the island.
AutoCharge uses your vehicle’s unique identifiers—the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and EV Charge Controller ID (EVCC ID)—to instantly verify and start charging once plugged in via a DC connector. Supported brands at launch include AION, BYD, Chery, MG, and Tesla, with more in the pipeline as partnerships with other automakers expand.
With EV adoption on the rise, drivers are increasingly frustrated by common issues like poor signal in carparks, fragmented charging networks, and cross-border compatibility challenges. AutoCharge eliminates all that—turning EV charging into a fast, frictionless experience that’s finally in line with the expectations of modern drivers.
