Cathay Pacific Reopens The Bridge Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport with a Sophisticated New Look

Cathay Pacific has officially reopened The Bridge, one of its most beloved lounges at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), revealing a fresh, elevated design that blends comfort, elegance, and thoughtful hospitality. Located near Departure Gate 35 in Terminal 1, the newly redesigned space is the first step in a global lounge enhancement strategy, reflecting Cathay Pacific’s continued investment in premium experiences.

The reopening of The Bridge marks the launch of Cathay Pacific’s broader lounge revamp, which includes upcoming renovations of The Wing, First—set to close on 23 May and reopen in 2026—and later, The Wing, Business. Meanwhile, The Deck will temporarily serve First class guests, while The Pier, First and The Pier, Business remain open.

This initiative is part of the airline’s wider HK$100 billion investment, which includes new aircraft, next-generation cabin products, lounges, and digital upgrades. Future flagship lounges are also slated to open in Beijing and New York, expanding Cathay Pacific’s global footprint.

A Residential Ambiance with Human-Centric Design

The new design of The Bridge is guided by human-centric principles, focusing on what matters most to travellers—comfort, aesthetics, and intuitive service. Rich cherry wood finishes, black granite and travertine, and curated plants and art from Cathay’s Gallery in the Skies come together to create a calm, cohesive, and residential-inspired setting.

Dash to Cart

Adding to the experience, The Bridge will soon become the first Cathay Pacific lounge to implement biometric check-in, offering guests a smoother, more personalized entry, alongside a traditional check-in counter.

Distinct Culinary Destinations on Both Sides of The Bridge

The lounge is thoughtfully divided into two distinct wings—the left side celebrates Chinese cuisine, while the right side focuses on international offerings.

Left Wing – Asian Flavours

Here, guests will find Cathay’s iconic Noodle Bar, serving signature dishes like wonton noodles, dan dan noodles, and dim sum, with rotating menus introducing regional specialties such as biangbiang mian and braised beef shin.
A new concept, The Nook, extends this culinary journey with small plates and lighter bites like crispy scallion pancakes, filled bao, and custom dim sum carts, served in a cosy, intimate setting.

Right Wing – International Comfort

Designed for First class guests and Cathay Diamond members, this area features a Food Hall showcasing oven-to-table dishes such as beef bourguignon, vegetable casseroles, and freshly baked pastries.
Guests can also unwind at The Bar, which offers panoramic runway views, a curated cocktail list, barista-brewed coffee, and Champagne, all served by Cathay’s welcoming bartenders. A nearby relaxation zone with bespoke Solo Chairs ensures a tranquil pre-flight retreat.
