Jazz visionary Kamasi Washington is set to make a triumphant return to Singapore with his Fearless Movement Asia Tour, presented by Collective Minds. The Emmy and Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer will take the stage at Capitol Theatre on Thursday, 5 June 2025 — marking his first performance in the city since his sold-out show in 2018.

Known for shattering genre boundaries, Kamasi Washington blends jazz with soul, hip-hop, classical, and global sounds. His rise to international acclaim began with his contributions to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and DAMN., including the iconic saxophone line on “HUMBLE.” His solo breakthrough, the critically acclaimed triple album The Epic, cemented his place as a modern jazz innovator, followed by Heaven and Earth and his award-nominated score for Netflix’s Becoming.
Now, Washington returns with Fearless Movement, a bold new album that he describes as his “dance record.” Inspired by the birth of his daughter and a deeper reflection on life and legacy, the album explores movement as a metaphor for expression. Featuring collaborations with André 3000, George Clinton, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Thundercat, Fearless Movement marks a shift from the cosmic to the corporeal — rooted in rhythm, joy, and connection.

The Singapore leg of the tour will feature Kamasi performing with his powerful 8-piece ensemble, promising an unforgettable night of musical exploration and genre-defying energy. With each project, Washington continues to push the limits of contemporary jazz, merging sound, culture, and community into a singular artistic force.
