Get ready to laugh, cry, and sing along as The Theatre Practice unveils its latest original musical, Partial Eclipse Of The Heart, an emotionally-charged Mandopop jukebox musical premiering from 21 August to 7 September 2025 at the Drama Centre Theatre.
Every decade, five friends reunite at the same seaside chalet under the rare glow of an eclipse. From reckless youth to complicated adulthood, they navigate first loves, epic failures, and life’s unexpected twists — proving that growing up doesn’t stop after your twenties. Through it all, their bond and the songs that shaped their generation hold them together.
Infused with cheeky humour and heartfelt nostalgia, Partial Eclipse Of The Heart is a coming-of-age tale that doubles as a loving tribute to Singapore’s collective journey.
Featuring iconic Mandopop hits from artists and songwriters like Tan Kah Beng, Jimmy Ye, Lee Shih Shiong, Stefanie Sun, Tanya Chua, Xiaohan, and Eric Ng, the musical is a singalong dream. Plus, it debuts a brand-new original number by Xiaohan and Julian Wong.
The cast includes Mandopop stars and theatre talents Joanna Dong, Derrick Hoh, Ric Liu, Jean Seizure, and Chriz Tong. Directed by Kuo Jian Hong (Lao Jiu: The Musical, If There’re Seasons…) with a story by Jonathan Lim and Ng Mun Poh, the show promises heartfelt storytelling and bold musicality.
