Singapore Ballet’s 2025 Season: A Dazzling Lineup of Classics, Contemporary Works, and Family Favourites

Singapore Ballet is set to illuminate the stage in 2025 with a season that promises to captivate audiences of all ages.

Titled Illuminations, the season will feature a mix of timeless classics, innovative contemporary works, and family-friendly productions, showcasing the company’s versatility and artistic delivery:

The 2025 season kicks off with Romeo & Juliet, a timeless tale of love and tragedy choreographed by Singaporean master Choo-San Goh.

Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s powerful score, this production will run from 13 to 16 March at the Esplanade Theatre.

The season also includes the return of Cinderella, a sell-out hit from previous years, which will close the year with performances from 4 to 7 December.

For younger audiences, Peter & Blue’s School Holiday will take center stage in June. This charming children’s production, created by Artistic Director Janek Schergen, follows the adventures of Peter and his dog, Blue.

Contemporary and Outdoor Highlights

Passages Contemporary Season

The Passages Contemporary Season, running from 31 October to 2 November, will showcase choreography with world premieres by renowned choreographers such as Natalie Weir, Tim Harbour, and Alice Topp. This season is a must-see for fans of innovative dance.

Outdoor ballet enthusiasts can look forward to Ballet Under the Stars, a beloved event held at Fort Canning Green. From 19 to 21 and 26 to 28 September, audiences can enjoy a magical evening of ballet under the night sky, featuring a mix of classical and contemporary works.

International Collaborations and Outreach

Singapore Ballet continues to expand its reach with international collaborations and educational initiatives. The company will tour Kuala Lumpur in November, presenting a triple bill of signature works, including Momentum and Fives by Choo-San Goh.

The company’s commitment to education and outreach remains strong, with programs like the Scholars Programme for aspiring dancers and the Dance Appreciation Series aimed at engaging young audiences.

Founded in 1988 as a platform for Asian ballet dancers and enthusiasts, Singapore Ballet has since grown into a world-class company with a repertoire that blends classical technique and contemporary movement, earning acclaim both locally and internationally.
