As The Theatre Practice (Practice) marks its 60th anniversary, it joins forces with Berries World of Learning School to bring back the Berries Chinese Theatre Festival: Family Edition. Running from 6 April to 4 May 2025, this beloved festival returns with two theatrical productions and two interactive experiences, continuing its mission to make Mandarin theatre accessible and engaging for young audiences and families.
Recognized by the National Arts Council Singapore as a pioneer in arts education, Practice has spent six decades nurturing young minds through “play-centric” learning experiences. Its vast repertoire of Mandarin Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) productions, classes, and school programs fosters deeper connections with the Chinese language and culture. Following the success of its inaugural edition, which welcomed over 2,000 attendees, this year’s festival builds on its mission of intergenerational storytelling and shared experiences.

With its #PracticeGreen initiative, The Theatre Practice continues its commitment to sustainability within the arts. Following the 2024 festival’s eco-conscious efforts—which included upcycled set materials, a recycling corner, and sustainable production practices—this year’s edition will further explore environmentally friendly theatre-making. The festival’s sustainability efforts were even showcased as a case study at Singapore’s inaugural Green Stages symposium, inspiring industry-wide change.
