For art lovers in Singapore, this January promises an unforgettable journey as GROUNDSEESAW brings a stunning multi-sensory art experience to Parkview Square (the Gotham City-like building in the Bugis area).
Featuring Van Gogh INSIDE: Love, Vincent, Gustav Klimt: Timeless Beauty, and the ongoing Monet Inside, the exhibition transforms timeless works into breathtaking immersive encounters.
We were invited to the media preview and I can confidently say this exhibition is a feast for the senses. As someone who studied art during my school days and holds a deep admiration for Vincent van Gogh, seeing his life and works projected on towering six-metre screens felt surreal.
Told through an exchange of letters between Van Gogh and his brother, Van Gogh’s distinctive brushstrokes, his vivid colours, and his emotionally charged masterpieces like Starry Night and Sunflowers come alive in a way that makes you feel as if you are walking through his story.
For someone who admired him not just for his art but for his kind, free-spirited personality and tragic journey, it was a moving tribute.
The Gustav Klimt: Timeless Beauty exhibition was equally enthralling.
Klimt’s art has a boldness that feels just as contemporary today as it must have been groundbreaking during his time. Pieces like The Kiss, with their intricate gold-leaf details, looked stunning on screen. It struck me how seamlessly his work could fit into a modern pop art gallery, reflecting how ahead of his time Klimt was in his choice of themes and style.
Opening on 24 January, 2025, GROUNDSEESAW’s exhibitions offers a 360-degree experience that lets you step directly into the creative worlds of Van Gogh, Klimt, and Monet. Each exhibition uses creative projections, evocative soundtracks, and immersive storytelling to breathe new life into iconic masterpieces.
The exhibitions are rotated daily, so there is always something fresh to experience for repeat visitors. Art appreciation aside, the colourful, moving projections are great for photo and video opportunities. Do stay back after the shows are over to get some shots for keepsake.
Tickets are now available through the Fever app and website, priced from $20 for an adult.
