Celebrating Ecosystem Connections

Designed to celebrate the harmony between forest and water ecosystems, the Mandai Boardwalk features five thematic stations and a lookout point inspired by the native wildlife. Highlights include:

  • Tree Frog’s Hangout: A tribute to the four-lined tree frog, native to the area.
  • Damselfly’s Wing: A rest station with designs inspired by damselflies and dragonflies.
  • Iora’s Nest: Showcasing the ingenuity of the Common Iora, whose nests are woven with spider webs.

These stations aim to connect visitors with the wonders of nature while preserving the delicate balance of the environment.

Eco-Friendly Design and Accessibility

In keeping with sustainable practices, the boardwalk was constructed with minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Elevated pathways ensure that native animals can move freely below, while enhancements to water-edge vegetation encourage biodiversity, attracting birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. Construction also avoided harm to mature trees and used low-impact techniques to maintain the area’s natural charm.
