Singapore’s Homegrown Brand lyf Celebrates Five Years of Redefining Next-Gen Travel with Art and Innovation

Singapore’s very own lyf (live your freedom), a hospitality brand by The Ascott Limited (Ascott), marks its fifth anniversary with a unique celebration. In a bold fusion of art and travel, lyf has launched a travelling art showcase featuring a mesmerizing installation titled The Door of Cosmic Dreams. Created by renowned Singaporean contemporary artist Jahan Loh, this installation symbolizes lyf’s spirit of adventure, innovation, and its mission to push boundaries in accommodation for the next-generation traveler.

Debuting at lyf Funan Singapore—lyf’s first property located in the heart of the Civic District—The Door of Cosmic Dreams will be open to the public from October 15 to 26, 2024. This captivating art piece serves as a metaphorical gateway to uncharted travel experiences, embodying the brand’s commitment to offering guests fresh and immersive stays in vibrant locations worldwide.

The Door of Cosmic Dreams: A Journey Beyond

Known for introducing street art to galleries in Singapore and China, Jahan Loh draws inspiration from a quote by French author Guy de Maupassant, reflecting the limitless possibilities that travel offers. His work serves as a metaphor for venturing beyond the familiar, much like lyf’s ambition to redefine travel by opening doors to new experiences.

Following its Singapore debut, The Door of Cosmic Dreams will embark on a global journey, visiting lyf properties in Tokyo, Paris, Manila, and Bangkok, bringing the brand’s message of creativity and social living to new audiences around the world.

A Commitment to Arts & Culture

This travelling art showcase is the first of its kind for a hospitality brand and underscores lyf’s dedication to the arts and culture. By engaging local communities and celebrating creativity, lyf aims to build its own unique “lyf tribe.” Previous artistic collaborations include custom artworks at lyf Collingwood Melbourne by Mysterious AI, and a stunning mural at lyf Cebu City in the Philippines by Cebuano artist Ivan Canencia.

Limited-Edition Merchandise

To commemorate this milestone and the collaboration with Jahan Loh, lyf will offer limited-edition merchandise, including apparel designed by the artist, available for purchase at lyf properties hosting the exhibition.
