The nominations for the 2024 MTV EMAs are in, and Taylor Swift has once again taken the lead with an impressive seven nods. Among the categories she’s vying for are “Best Artist,” “Best Video,” “Best Pop,” and “Biggest Fans.” Hot on her heels with five nominations each are Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, and Sabrina Carpenter, recognized in key categories like “Best Song,” “Best Video,” and “Best Artist.”
Other notable contenders include Ayra Starr, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and LISA, each earning four nominations. First-time nominees Chappell Roan and Tyla are also in the mix, making a strong debut with four nominations each.
In the “Best Asia Act” category, regional talent shines with BINI from Indonesia, ILLIT from South Korea, Mahalini from Indonesia, MASDO from Malaysia, and Japan’s Sakurazaka46 competing for the top spot.
This year’s EMAs feature 19 first-time nominees, including Kehlani and Tinashe for “Best R&B,” Disclosure and Fred Again.. for “Best Electronic,” and Fontaines D.C. for “Best Alternative.” Notably, BTS’ Jimin has earned his first solo nomination in the “Best K-Pop” category.
The “Best Collaboration” category brings together some of the biggest names in music, including Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, LISA and Rosalía, Peso Pluma and Anitta, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift and Post Malone.
Fans can cast their votes across various categories until November 6, 6:00 AM SGT. Winners for the “Best Video” category will be chosen by MTV, while “Biggest Fans” winners will be decided via social media later on.
The 2024 MTV EMAs will be held at Manchester’s Co-op Live, marking the first time the awards will take place in the city. This year’s show celebrates the EMAs’ 30th anniversary and its return to the UK.
The event will air live in over 150 countries, with on-demand access available in Southeast Asia from November 16 through platforms such as Singtel TV (Singapore), Astro (Malaysia), First Media, and Indihome (Indonesia). Additional international broadcasts will be available on Pluto TV and Paramount+.
