This October, foodpanda Singapore is rolling out its inaugural Rider Safety Month in partnership with the Traffic Police (TP), aimed at enhancing road safety for delivery partners. The initiative brings together the Traffic Police, Land Transport Authority (LTA), and training providers to offer delivery riders essential resources, knowledge, and skills for safer journeys on the road.
The launch event, held with the presence of Guest-of-Honour Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development, kicked off with 45 delivery partners attending a road safety talk by TP. They also witnessed safety demonstrations by ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC), learning defensive riding techniques and best practices to keep themselves and others safe.
Throughout October, delivery partners can sign up for hands-on safety training courses tailored to vehicle types, facilitated by CDC and the Singapore Cycling Federation. These courses focus on practical techniques like hazard management and defensive riding. Participants can also attend talks and Q&A sessions led by TP and LTA experts.
To further support rider safety, foodpanda is offering complimentary safety kits to participating delivery partners, along with safety rewards of up to $300 for those who complete the training.
