Singapore Art Week (SAW) returns for its 13th edition from January 17 to 26, 2025, marking a special milestone as Singapore celebrates its 60th year of independence. Organized by the National Arts Council (NAC), SAW is the region’s longest-running visual arts event, featuring a wide array of exhibitions, art fairs, and talks that reflect Singapore’s vibrant and evolving arts scene.
This ten-day celebration will bring the city to life with art in every corner, from galleries to public spaces, offering a platform for local and international artists to collaborate and share their work.
Art Everywhere: A City Transformed
SAW 2025 will see Singapore’s everyday spaces transformed into artistic showcases, with art popping up in galleries, supermarkets, and even public spaces. This year’s event promises to immerse audiences in innovative and dynamic contemporary art, highlighting the diverse and creative talent across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
A Platform for Global Conversations
Cultural institutions like the National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Art Museum (SAM) will anchor SAW 2025 with exhibitions that spotlight regional and global artistic practices. As part of Singapore’s independence celebrations, the Gallery’s SG Artist Series will showcase solo exhibitions by iconic artists Lim Tze Peng, Teo Eng Seng, and Kim Lim, reflecting Singapore’s rich artistic heritage.
Additionally, Light to Night Singapore 2025 will mesmerize visitors with large-scale installations and projection mappings, celebrating local and contemporary artists who have shaped Singapore’s visual arts landscape.
At SAM, Everyday Practices will debut, featuring works by artists from across Asia, addressing pressing global issues through thought-provoking art.
Inclusive and Diverse Art Experiences
SAW 2025 offers something for everyone, with art fairs, private collection unveilings, and international presentations. Highlights include the return of Robert Zhao Renhui’s Seeing Forest, which debuted at the Venice Biennale, and ART SG, a premier international art fair showcasing top galleries and artists from Southeast Asia and beyond.
S.E.A. Focus, curated by John Tung, will delve into the evolving boundaries between Modern and Contemporary art in Southeast Asia, while exclusive private collections from renowned collectors Pierre Lorinet and Richard Koh will be on display at Singapore’s newest creative spaces.
