Maguro Samurai is one of the three Japanese restaurants in Singapore launched by the energetic Chef Kan Nishina under his Kan Sushi Group. Other than Maguro Samurai at Robertson Quay, Chef Kan also operates Kan Sushi at both Anson Road and Robertson Quay. An Osaka native, Chef Kan brings over two decades of sushi mastery from Japan to Singapore from 2014, particularly in maguro (tuna) handling.
Maguro Samurai seeks to bring a modern, “fish market-style” izakaya concept to Singapore, with an emphasis on authentic Japanese dishes and unique, fresh tuna parts. For ambience, the restaurant’s interior features samurai swords and an impressive collection of Japanese alcohols, enhancing the dining experience.
Maguro Samurai has recently introduced an all-day buffet priced at $68, with a special Kids Buffet at $28.
For this amazingly affordable pricing, the buffet comes with a small catch: diners must first finish a box of sushi, a fish, and a chawanmushi dish before proceeding to order from the extensive buffet menu. While there is no limit to your orders, there is a time limit of 75 minutes to enjoy the buffet and patrons will also be charged for any food wastage.
The sushi served here are not the cheap, local variants like crabstick sush, but authentic nigiri sushi. Here is a list of the sushi you can order from the buffet menu:

- Tuna Cheek Meat Sushi
- Engawa/ Flounder Fin Sushi
