i Light Singapore (iLSG) marks its milestone 10th edition from May 31st to June 23rd, 2024, illuminating Marina Bay and neighboring precincts with an array of captivating artworks and experiences. Organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), this year’s festival promises to be bigger and more eco-tastic than ever before, with expanded footprints and thought-provoking installations.
Beyond the iconic Marina Bay, iLSG ventures into new territories, including Tanjong Pagar, for the first time. Collaborating with Discover Tanjong Pagar (DTP), the festival spreads its eco-conscious message to new audiences, enhancing its impact and outreach.
Inspired by the theme of Cyclical Nature and the color green, symbolizing nature and sustainability, iLSG 2024 presents 17 artworks by 25 artists. Visitors will be immersed in contemplative and interactive installations that explore the endless potential of everyday objects for redesign, restoration, and repurposing.
At Marina Bay, the main festival grounds offer a mesmerizing array of light art installations addressing pertinent environmental issues. From the Mist Walk to the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, visitors can engage with thought-provoking artworks like Spin Me a Yarn, Kinetic Perspective, and Liminal;Minimal, highlighting issues such as global pollution and construction waste.
Venturing into Tanjong Pagar, visitors can marvel at artworks like BottleBlooms and Kickit Team Tennis, showcasing the transformative potential of discarded materials and promoting interactive experiences. Meanwhile, returning satellite sites like South Beach and Millenia Walk offer dynamic installations like Lumi and Modern Guru and the Path to Artificial Happiness, urging visitors to reflect on renewal and contentment.
iLSG goes beyond art to promote sustainable living through an array of exciting programs and collaborations. Partnering with The Conscious Festival, the festival introduces wellness workshops, transformative talks, and a marketplace, inviting visitors to reconnect with themselves and the Earth.
The Festival Village GastroBeats returns with a tantalizing array of sustainably-produced culinary delights and musical experiences, ensuring a feast for the senses.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, iLSG encourages visitors to bring reusable cups, flasks, and containers, while plastic straws will not be provided. Solar-powered amenities ensure a comfortable and eco-friendly experience for all attendees.
