Emirates Launches New Daily Service to Bogotá, Colombia, Expanding South American Network

Emirates has announced the commencement of a new daily service from Dubai to Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia, starting June 3rd.

This exciting development not only connects Colombia with the United Arab Emirates but also marks a significant milestone as Emirates becomes the first airline to establish a direct link between the greater Middle East region and the northern part of the South American continent. With this expansion, Emirates’ South American network now encompasses four gateways, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, adding Bogotá as its latest destination. Additionally, the airline’s operations in the Americas will now serve 19 points across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.

The daily services will operate between Dubai and Bogotá via Miami, making Emirates the pioneer in offering premium services on the popular route between south Florida and Colombia. This strategic move not only caters to the robust and growing demand for air travel between Colombia and the UAE but also facilitates seamless connections to numerous destinations on Emirates’ global network beyond Dubai.

Due to the high altitude of Bogotá, a non-stop flight from Dubai is not feasible, necessitating a stopover. Miami was chosen as the stopover point due to its significant tourism and trade ties with Bogotá.

Passengers traveling between Dubai and Bogotá via Miami must comply with entry regulations for the United States and possess the required documents due to immigration procedures in Miami. Fortunately, Colombian and UAE citizens can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 90 days in Dubai and Bogotá, respectively, thanks to reciprocal visa arrangements between both countries.

Tickets for flights to Bogotá starting June 3rd are now available for purchase on Emirates’ official website, the Emirates App, or through authorized travel agents.

Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will feature 354 seats across three cabins, setting a new standard for premium services on the Bogotá – Miami route. First Class and Business Class passengers can enjoy lie-flat seats, complimentary food and beverage, and a generous free baggage allowance. Additionally, passengers can indulge in Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, which offers access to over 6,500 channels of global entertainment content, including Spanish-language options.

Moreover, the new Boeing 777-300ER services will provide up to 20 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, facilitating the export of Colombian products such as fresh flowers, fruits, and vegetables to global markets.

Bogotá, known as the “Athens of South America,” boasts a rich cultural heritage, vibrant finance sector, and thriving tourism industry, making it an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers.

Emirates’ flights to Bogotá will not only enhance connectivity to Dubai but also facilitate convenient inbound connections from 78 destinations in its extensive network, opening up new avenues for travel and trade between Colombia and key markets around the world. Whether traveling to Dubai or onwards to other destinations, passengers can look forward to a seamless travel experience with Emirates.
