Dyson introduces a groundbreaking innovation in hair care with the launch of the Dyson Airstrait straightener in Singapore. Departing from conventional methods that often lead to heat damage, this revolutionary straightener employs powerful focused airflow to achieve wet-to-dry straightening, resulting in healthier, shinier hair with up to 60% less damage.
Unlike traditional straighteners that rely on hot plates, the Dyson Airstrait straightener utilizes powerful airflow projected through two 1.5mm apertures to create a controlled downward force, straightening hair as it dries. This directional airflow, emitted at a 45° angle, aligns hair strands for a smooth finish without exposing them to extreme heat, preserving hair strength and minimizing damage.
Backed by over a decade of research, Dyson engineers have meticulously studied the science of style, from hair structure to airflow dynamics, to develop a revolutionary approach to hair styling. By utilizing powerful airflow and controlled heat, the Dyson Airstrait straightener preserves the internal structure of hair, resulting in healthier, shinier locks.
At the heart of the Dyson Airstrait straightener lies the Hyperdymium motor, engineered to generate the airflow necessary for drying and straightening wet hair simultaneously. With a 13-blade impeller spinning at up to 106,000rpm, this motor propels over 11.9 litres of air per second, providing enough pressure to straighten hair without compromising on power.
Equipped with intelligent heat control, the Dyson Airstrait straightener features glass bead thermistors that measure airflow temperature up to 16 times per second to prevent heat damage. This data is continuously sent to the microprocessor, which regulates the heating element, ensuring optimal airflow temperature for hair styling.
The Dyson Airstrait straightener offers two styling modes – ‘Wet’ and ‘Dry’ – each pre-set with specific heat and airflow combinations for optimal results. In ‘Wet’ mode, users can choose from three heat settings, while ‘Dry’ mode offers two temperature options. Additionally, the straightener features a ‘Cool’ mode to set the style and a ‘Root Drying’ mode to maintain scalp health.
