[Staycation] Pan Pacific Singapore’s S$30 Million Transformation: A Reimagined Luxury Experience

Pan Pacific Singapore, the flagship property of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, recently revealed the completion of its S$30 million transformation after an extensive five-month renovation across all 790 rooms. This transformation marks a pivotal moment, showcasing the brand’s vision of “Graceful Luxury”, following the successful launches of Pan Pacific Orchard and Pan Pacific London.

Hotel lobby

The transformed Pan Pacific Singapore now boasts a redefined experience that aligns with evolving traveler expectations and we were invited for a staycation in December last year to experience it for ourselves.

The last time my son Asher and I stayed at Pan Pacific Singapore for a staycation was before the height of the pandemic, back in March 2021.

What has changed since then?

The focal point of the renovation is the unveiling of Pacific Emporium, an innovative dining and retail space that celebrates Singapore’s rich culture and heritage. Divided into four distinct sections – The Kitchen, The Bar, The Deli, and The Gifting – Pacific Emporium offers a culinary journey through Singaporean flavours and local craftsmanship.

PLUME

The refurbishment includes the introduction of PLUME, a destination bar, renovated rooms and suites, and the rejuvenated Ocean Ballroom. These enhancements are meticulously designed to infuse the essence of Singapore into every facet of the property.

The hotel’s rooms, including the Executive Marina Bay Rooms, have been redesigned to prioritise elevated luxury and comfort.

Balcony sizes were adjusted to offer more room space while optimising views of the picturesque Marina Bay skyline. Guests staying in Executive Marina Bay Rooms gain access to Studio 26, a 24-hour self-service area on the 26th floor, providing office facilities, complimentary pastries, beverages, and light snacks.

Pacific Club Lounge

Additionally, Pan Pacific Singapore introduces the enhanced St. Gregory Spa, offering a wide array of specialised therapies and wellness treatments.

The Ocean Ballroom, a signature venue, has been revamped to accommodate up to 450 guests, boasting technological upgrades and a luxurious ambiance. The hotel’s Grand Atrium and VIP Lounge have also been transformed to offer guests a stunning arrival experience, adorned with lush greenery and iconic design elements paying homage to Singapore’s history.

Staycation Review

We stayed at one of the newly renovated Executive Marina Bay Room and it delivers on an opulent and contemporary retreat feel. We enjoyed our stay so much that Asher and I did not venture outside of the hotel during the 2D1N stay, even though the hotel is conveniently connected to Marina Square.

We love the expanded balcony area and being able to step outside to admire the magnificent view from our room.

Access to Studio 26 on the 26th floor was the best perk of all. It adds convenience with its 24-hour amenities, including office facilities and an array of complimentary refreshments. For light eaters like Asher and I, the F&B provided at Studio 26 is more than enough to cater for our breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here are some of the stuff we get to enjoy during our stay at the Pacific Club Lounge:

The Club Lounge Breakfast Menu was really good and we were spoiled for choices. From the buffet line, there are items like Lobster Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rendang Pie and a spread of other local and international fares. From the ordering menu, each guest is entitled to order off two items:

Other than eating, we spent time exercising as well at the beautiful hotel pool and in-door gym which are located on the same floor with a kids’ playground and other games amenities and facilities like a ping pong table and a giant chess set:

During our stay, I went to savour some avian-inspired cocktails at PLUME, while Asher sipped on the mocktail. The bar boasts signature concoctions inspired by Singapore’s native colorful birds, adding a unique touch to the overall experience.

Best of all, the service staff across the whole hotel delivered a high, exceptional standard of hospitality. We were impressed by the warm greetings and attention to details from each and every one of the staff we encountered during our stay, including the wait staff and the cleaning staff.

Some things remain the same and we like it to be the same from what we remembered from our last stay. The iconic bubble lifts are still there, offering a great view of both the cityscape as well as the interior the hotel. The overall architectural design of the hotel is still timeless, even after the renovation:

Verdict?

The newly renovated Pan Pacific Singapore embodies the property’s commitment to delivering elevated luxury and hospitality. This is one of the most relaxing staycations we have been to recently and we have done a lot of these.
