Korean Air, a prominent member of the SkyTeam Alliance, is set to rekindle the travel flame with the full resumption of its Japan network, offering seamless connections for travelers from Singapore. Excitingly, the airline is reintroducing services to Komatsu and Aomori, bringing its network of destinations in Japan back to pre-COVID levels.
Starting December 28, Korean Air will soar through the skies with a thrice-weekly non-stop service from Seoul Incheon to Komatsu. This picturesque city, known for its seaside views and heavy winter snowfall, beckons travelers to explore its rich cultural heritage dating back to the 17th century. Natadera Temple, a cultural treasure, promises scenic beauty with well-maintained gardens, ponds, and unique rock formations. Don’t miss the opportunity to rejuvenate in seaside hot springs at Awazu Onsen while enjoying the soothing views of the ocean.
Come January 20, Korean Air will resume services to Aomori, famously crowned as the “snowiest city in the world” with an annual snowfall averaging 792cm. Nature lovers and adventure seekers will find bliss in the Hakkoda Mountains, offering opportunities for hiking and skiing. The Hakkoda Ropeway, an aerial cable car, unveils stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Aomori is also home to the picturesque Lake Towada, nestled in Towada-Hachimantai National Park, featuring scenic beauty, hiking trails, and boat cruises.
For those with a taste for sweetness, Aomori is Japan’s leading producer of apples. Travelers can explore apple orchards, especially during the apple-picking season (early July to mid-November), and indulge in freshly harvested apples and apple-related products.
Adding to the excitement, Korean Air resumed services to Niigata on 31 October. Famous for top-quality rice and sake breweries, Niigata invites travelers to delve into its sake culture at the Echigo Sake Museum Ponshukan, offering tastings and even sake baths. Seeking relaxation? Niigata prefecture boasts idyllic hot springs in the towns of Senami, Iwamuro, and Tsukioka.
Korean Air operates on the Seoul Incheon-Niigata route with a thrice-weekly service (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) using Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
With the full resumption of its Japan network, Korean Air caters to the growing demand for travel as Japan experiences a robust rebound in passenger numbers. Pack your bags and get ready to explore the beauty, culture, and warmth that these vibrant Japanese cities have to offer, courtesy of Korean Air.
