Dive into the Heart of Singapore at the Heartlands Festival 2023

Get ready for a celebration like no other as the Heartlands Festival 2023 gears up to take Singapore by storm from 1 December 2023 to 31 January 2024. Themed “Celebrating the Community,” this year’s festival promises a renewed focus on connecting with the younger generation, sustaining the essence of our neighborhoods, and strengthening community bonds.

Organized by the Heartland Enterprise Centre Singapore (HECS) and supported by The Federation of Merchants’ Associations, Singapore (FMAS), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), Housing & Development Board (HDB), and People’s Association (PA), the Heartlands Festival is all about fostering community engagement across generations. With thrilling activities like the Heartlands Festival Lucky Draw, Heartlands Quest, and Heartlands Odyssey, it invites everyone to participate and revel in the unique charm of the heartlands.

This year, the festival gains a new mascot and quest master – ‘Hearty.’ A friendly character symbolizing the spirit of the heartlands, Hearty invites individuals to embark on “The Quest of Hearty,” a gamified exploration to rediscover neighborhoods, connect with the community, and celebrate the heartlands that have shaped generations.

The Heartlands Festival Lucky Draw adds a dash of luck to the festivities. From 1 December 2023 to 31 January 2024, heartlanders can become savvy spenders and stand a chance to win cash and prizes worth up to $9,988. Weekly draws every Friday, starting from December 8, 2023, will keep the excitement high, with the Grand Draw on 31 January 2024, offering cash prizes up to $9,988 and 10 consolation winners bagging prizes worth up to $488.

The Heartlands Quest takes the exploration to the next level. From 1 December 2023 to 31 January 2024, heartlanders can scan QR codes, unlock interactive quizzes, accumulate points, and receive attractive rewards. It’s a celebration of the heartlands’ unique charms and a tribute to local businesses.

For the adventurous souls, Hearty challenges everyone with the Heartlands Odyssey. Themed races in five vibrant neighborhoods – Toa Payoh, Upper Boon Keng, Chong Pang, Bukit Gombak, and Serangoon North – promise a cultural exploration, reconnecting with the heartlands, uncovering stories, and immersing in heartwarming experiences.

Partnering with the National Heritage Board, the festival offers captivating heritage trails and exhibitions. Dive into the rich history of areas like Boon Lay and Jurong East, explore Singapore’s deep love affair with food, and revisit the defining moments of the nation.

Hyperlocal activities by Merchants’ and Hawkers’ Associations, community bazaars, Christmas fairs, light-ups, night bazaars, and more are on the agenda. The Heartlands Festival 2023 is not just an event; it’s a sensory exploration, a celebration of community, culture, and the heart and soul of Singapore’s heartlands.
